Take Float with you on the go!

The Float mobile app streamlines your scheduling and time-tracking processes, ensuring you stay connected with your team's activities no matter where you are. Our intuitive interface synchronizes in real-time with the web version, keeping your Schedule up-to-date with just a few taps.

📝Note: The Float mobile app supports the dark mode settings of your device. This means that if you have dark mode enabled on your device, the Float app will automatically switch to dark mode as well.

Downloading the app

You can download the Float mobile app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store for Android. If you are new to Float, sign up for a free 30-day trial to get started on the mobile app.

Sign in

You can sign in to the mobile app with your credentials, with Google Sign In, or with the magic link.

Click Send me a magic link, enter your email, and then select Sign in to Float within the email to log into your account. This is a safe and secure way to access Float on your mobile device without typing the password.

Scheduling

To allocate time, schedule time off, or set your status, tap on the Schedule or press the + (add button) at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Select Allocation, fill in the details, and tap Create to allocate time. ​Similarly, you can create time off or set up the status.

📝Note: Optionally can assign the allocation to a specific task. If the task list is locked, assigning a task is required to create an allocation.

Filtering and sorting

You can filter or sort your Schedule in the mobile app using the options in the top right corner.

📝Note: To use the custom sort option, set it up first in the web version, as it’s not adjustable in the mobile app.

Time Tracking

If your team uses time tracking, click Log time at the bottom of the page to enter your hours.

​To log time, select the allocation, verify or adjust the hours, and click Log time.

💡 Here's a tip: To log time for all visible allocations at once, select Log all at the bottom of the Log time tab.

App settings and customization

To access the app settings, click on your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.

Profile picture

To update your profile picture, click on your profile icon and take a photo or update one from your library.

Teams

If you have access to multiple teams at Float, this is where you can switch between them.

Notifications

This is where you can review the latest notifications. The mobile app supports real-time push notifications for schedule updates. If there is an unread notification, a yellow dot appears next to your profile icon.

Preferences

You can personalize your Schedule display preferences. You can choose to see a day, 3 days, or a week; in a compact or spacious view. You can also decide to show or hide weekends.

Support

This is where you can access the Help Center, chat with our Support team, and check the version of your app. 

Sign out

This is where you can log out of the app.

Additional Notes

  • Only your individual time is shown on the Log time tab.

  • Refresh your Schedule with a simple swipe down.

  • If you lose internet connectivity, the Schedule becomes read-only.

  • Your device's dark mode settings are supported.

  • Drag-and-drop and right-click tools are not available in the mobile app.

  • Creating, editing, or deleting people and projects is currently not available on the mobile app.

  • The mobile app does not support reports and third-party SSO integrations like Azure AD, OneLogin, and Okta.
