Pixel 8 phones are known to not be working with the Float apps at the moment. Our team is actively working on having them added to the list of supported devices. Stay tuned!

The mobile app makes it easy to view and schedule tasks, log your time, and set a status to let your team know what you're up to.

Changes sync in real-time across the mobile app and web version of Float, so you'll only be a few clicks away from seeing the latest version of your Schedule.

Assign a task, schedule time off, and set a status

Tap anywhere on the Schedule or click the Add button (+) in the bottom right corner to bring up the menu.

Mobile app allocation menu.

๐Ÿ“Note: The Add button will only display for users who can edit the Schedule.

You can assign a task, schedule time off, or set a status from the Schedule tab. Enter any relevant details and then click Create in the top right corner to add it to your Schedule.

Click the magnifying glass from the top menu to search/filter the Schedule by project, department, tag, etc.

The Sort by option lets you re-order the Schedule to your liking.

๐Ÿ’ก Here's a tip: The custom sort option must first be set from the web version. It cannot be updated in the mobile app.

Log your hours

If your team uses time tracking, you can log your hours from the Log Time tab.

Adjust your view

Change the way your Schedule looks by clicking your Profile in the top right corner and then the Preferences tab.

There are three calendar view options: Day, 3 Day, and Week. You'll only see the selected number of days at a time based on the option you choose.

You can also show or hide the weekends, display your entire team's Schedule or just your own, and pick between a compact or spacious task layout.

View preferences in the mobile app.

๐Ÿ’ก Here's a tip: Flipping to landscape mode in the Day and 3 Day views will display the whole week. In the Week view, you will see two weeks at a time.

See notifications and switch between teams

The Profile tab is also where you will find your notifications and activity feed and where you can switch between teams if you have access to more than one.

With the Float mobile app installed, you can receive push notifications to your device based on your individual notification settings.

If your Schedule changes and you're not online, a push notification will follow after approximately 15 minutes.

๐Ÿ’ก Here's a tip: Check out this article for more on the notifications settings available in Float.

Additional notes

  • Only your individual time is shown on the Log Time tab.

  • The Schedule can be refreshed by swiping down on the screen.

  • The Schedule becomes read-only if your internet connection is down.

  • Your device's dark mode is supported within the mobile app.

  • Dragging/dropping and the right-click tools are not supported.

  • People and projects cannot be created, edited, or deleted using the mobile app.
