The Account Owner, users with Billing access rights, and Admins can invite users to your team's account at Float. They can be added as people or as guests.
The Account Owner and Admins grant Managers additional permission to invite people by selecting Create and edit people in the Access tab of their profile.
Inviting people
A person is any team member who appears on the Schedule and can be allocated work. This includes full or part-time employees, temporary contractors, and any other resources you want to schedule (like placeholders).
To access the account, each person needs to have the access rights assigned. Access rights can be set up (and updated if needed) in the Access tab of each team member's profile.
Once the access rights are assigned and the email address is entered, you can send the invitation by clicking Add&invite person.
The invitation expires after seven days. If the link expires or the invitation email is lost, you can send it again with the Resend invite option within the person's profile.
Inviting guests
A guest is a user who does not need to appear on the Schedule but requires access to view and potentially edit it. This could include individuals such as finance team members who need to access reports or project managers who are responsible for scheduling work for their teams. Float allows an unlimited number of guests to be added for free.
To access the account, each guest needs to have the access rights assigned. Access rights can be set up (and updated if needed) in the Access tab of each guest's profile.
Once the access rights are assigned and the email address is entered, you can send the invitation by clicking Invite.
The invitation expires after seven days. If the link expires or the invitation email is lost, you can send it again with the Resend invite option inside the Pending invites tab for guests.
Invitation email
The invitation is sent from the notification@float.com email address, and the message title is You're invited to join "Your Team Name" in Float.
After clicking on Let's login, each user is prompted to create a password or sign up with Google (requiring no Float password).
With the first login, the Welcome to Float product tour will start (users can choose to close it).
Additional notes
Customizing invitations is currently not supported at Float.
If you have been invited but do not see the invitation in your mailbox, please check your spam folder. If it is not there, please make sure that our domain (float.com) is safe-listed on your end so all the correspondence can go through.
