The Account Owner and Admins can invite users to your team’s Float account. Depending on your needs, they can be added as people (paid seats) or as guests (free), with appropriate access rights (permissions) assigned.
The Account Owner and Admins can grant Managers additional permission to invite people by selecting Add and edit People, including rates if viewable in the Access tab of their profile.
Inviting people
A person is a resource who appears on the Schedule and can be allocated work. This includes full or part-time employees, temporary contractors, and any other resources you want to schedule (like placeholders).
People can be invited from the People page or directly on the Schedule.
To access the account, each person must have their email address entered in their profile and access rights assigned. You can set those up in the Access tab of each team member's profile.
Once the email address is entered and the access rights are assigned, you can send the invitation by clicking Add&invite person.
The invitation expires after seven days. If the link expires or the invitation email is lost, you can send it again with the Resend invite option within the person’s profile.
Inviting guests
A guest is a user who does not need to appear on the Schedule but requires access to view and, if needed, edit it. This could include individuals such as finance team members who need to access reports or project managers who are responsible for scheduling work for their teams. Float allows an unlimited number of guests to be added for free.
Guests can be invited by the Account Owner and Admins from Team settings > Guests.
To access the account, each guest needs to have an email address entered in their profile and access rights assigned. Access rights can be set up (and updated if needed) in the Access tab of each guest's profile.
Once the email address is entered and the access rights are assigned, click Invite to send the invitation.
The invitation expires after seven days. If the link expires or the invitation email is lost, you can send it again with the Resend invite option inside the Pending invites tab for guests.
Invitation email
The invitation is sent from the notification@float.com email address, and the message title is You're invited to join "Your Team Name" in Float.
After clicking Let's login, each user is prompted to create a password or sign up with Google (requiring no Float password).
Additional notes
Customizing invitations is not currently supported in Float.
If you have been invited but do not see the invitation in your mailbox, please check your spam folder. If it is not there, please make sure that our domain (float.com) is safe-listed on your end so all the correspondence can go through.
You can also bulk invite and give people access rights.
