This feature is part of an early access release and isn’t enabled by default. Access is available on request only.
Project-level currencies
Project-level currencies let you set budgets and bill rates in a client’s local currency, while keeping your team’s home currency unchanged.
For example, a U.S.-based team can manage Canadian projects in CAD while using USD internally. A London-based company can keep GBP as its home currency and set individual projects for European clients in EUR.
This makes it easy to track budgets accurately and communicate clearly with clients in their local currency.
Currency management
Access to currency management is limited to the Account Owner and Admins. They can access the settings in Team settings > Currencies.
Plan availability
Access to currencies depends on your Float plan:
Starter: Home currency only (no localized project currencies)
Pro: Up to five project currencies
Enterprise: Unlimited project currencies
Home currency
Your team’s home currency is defined in Team settings > Currencies. This is the default base currency for all projects.
📝Note: To update your home currency, you'd need to remove all the project currencies first.
Project currencies
In Team settings > Currencies > Project currencies, you can add project currencies and manually set the exchange rate (FX) for them.
To add a project currency:
1. Go to Team settings > Currencies > Project currencies
2. Click Add
3. Select the currency from the list
4. Set the exchange rate
5. Click Save to confirm
📝Note: If you're on the Pro plan and have reached the five-currency limit, delete an existing currency or upgrade to Enterprise to add more.

Applying project-level currencies
Assigning currency to a project
In each project’s settings, under Budget > Currency, you can apply a localized currency. Project-level currencies can only be applied to Time & materials and Fixed fee budget types. The selected currency is used for all budget, cost, and margin calculations within that project.
Exchange rate
Once you select the project's currency from the drop-down, the Exchange rate field will appear. The corresponding currency exchange rate defined in Team settings > Currencies > Project currencies will automatically populate and remain fixed for the entire duration of the project.
Learn more about the exchange rates here.
Adjusting budgets and bill rates in project currency
Setting a project currency does not automatically convert the budget amount or bill rates. You must manually update the budget and bill rates based on the project's currency exchange rate.
Example:
Your home currency is USD
You set a project currency to be CAD
The fixed fee budget currency changes from $ to CA$, but the fee (if already set) stays the same. It needs to be recalculated manually based on the project's exchange rate.
The team bill rates currency updates from $ to CA$, but the rate values remain the same - $50 USD is updated to CA$50. They need to be recalculated manually based on the project's exchange rate.
Updating project currency
Only Account Owners and Admins can change the currency or exchange rate for an existing project. Project Managers can select the project's currency from the predefined list, but they cannot modify the exchange rate.
Changing a project's currency does not automatically update the budget or team members' bill rates.
If you update the project currency, you must:
Review the new currency's exchange rate
For fixed fee budget types, manually update the budget amount based on the project's exchange rate.
Manually adjust the team’s bill rates to reflect the new currency values based on the project's exchange rate.
Viewing currencies in a project
In the Project view, use View in home/project currency from the action menu to toggle between home and project currencies and compare values.
Reports and exports
Currently, only the Single Project Report displays all financials in the project’s selected currency.
If your team is using the project finance dashboard, all dashboard metrics will always be shown in your home currency.
The Multi-Project Report updates are coming soon. Stay tuned!
Additional notes
Exchange rates are fixed for the duration of a project. Applying dynamic or monthly-changing exchange rates is not supported.
