Understand the Schedule

The Schedule is your main view in Float. It displays your team’s planned work on a calendar timeline and shows work allocations and time off. Your access rights define what you can see— the entire team, particular departments, or only your own schedule—as well as what you can modify—everyone, specific team members, just yourself, or none. To display your own scheduled hours and time off, use the Me filter.

Allocations

Each scheduled job at Float is called an allocation. The allocation color depends on the project it belongs to. Click on an allocation tile to see its details. Allocations must be linked to a project and can optionally be assigned to a specific phase or a specific task. Your ability to view, create and edit allocations depends on your access rights.

Overtime

The red background behind the allocation indicates the overtime. It means that you have been scheduled beyond your daily capacity.

Time off and holidays

The Schedule also displays time off, including vacation and public holidays, to reflect true availability.

Milestones

If your team's projects have milestones set up, you can quickly review them on the Schedule. They appear as colored dots at the top of specific dates.
