With Project codes, you can add unique identifiers to your projects that can be used across your organization. Project codes can be used for tracking job numbers, project numbers, or any other ID you use to identify your projects.
Project code settings
The Account Owner and the Admins can enable Project codes for your team in the Clients & Project codes tab within the Team settings.
Add a Project code to a project
Once your team has enabled Project codes, you can add a project code to any project in the Info section in the project side panel. Any team member with edit rights for the project can add a project code, and emojis and special characters are supported.
It's also possible to import project codes when importing projects via CSV. Learn more here.
Project codes are unique—you can't use the same code for multiple projects. Use a different code for each project, or leave the project code field blank if you don't need it.
Project codes on the Schedule and Project Plan
There are a few different ways to see Project codes when scheduling.
Search for a project code to filter for a specific project.
When adding an allocation, search by project code in the Project field.
Hover over any allocation on the Schedule or Project plan, and you’ll see the project code appear in the tooltip.
The project code will also appear in the project details on the Project plan.
Project codes in your reports
On the Projects report, project codes appear in a separate column in the table data.
When you export the table data from the Projects report, the Project code will be displayed as a separate column in the export.
On the People report, project codes appear in a separate column on the Projects tab. The Project code field is currently not included in the exported file.
Additional notes
While it's possible to search by project code, it isn't currently possible to filter for a specific project code.
The project code field is not supported for project templates.
