Export your data

Download your Float data

Exporting data from Float is straightforward. You can export it directly from the Float or use the API to get the data you need.


Schedule export

To download the Schedule view:

  1. Navigate to the Schedule

  2. Click on the Share button located in the top right corner

  3. Select Export (.CSV for Excel)

You can choose one of the preset date ranges or specify a custom range. Data can be exported by day or week.

The downloaded data table includes the following fields:

  • Team name

  • Date and time of the export

  • Applied filters (if any)

  • Name

  • Role

  • Department

  • Task

  • Project

  • Client

  • Time off

  • Notes

  • Dates from the selected timeframe with the scheduled hours and the remaining capacity

Export schedule in the table format.

People export

To download a list of your team members:

  1. Go to the People page

  2. Click on Import > Upload a file

  3. Tick the Pre-populate with the existing team to update people box

  4. Click on Download people template.

- Name

Projects export

To download the list of your projects:

  1. Navigate to the Projects page

  2. Click on Import > Upload a file

  3. Tick the Pre-populate with existing projects box.

  4. Click on Download project template.

The downloaded data table includes the following fields:

- Budget (total hours)

- Non-billable (If Y, the project is marked as non-billable)

- All PMS have edit rights (If Y, Managers with ‘manage projects’ permission can edit this project).

Reports export

To export reports for offline work or external tracking:

  1. Go to the Report page

  2. Select People or Projects view

  3. Select the report view that fits you best (Scheduled, Logged, Logged vs Scheduled, Past Logged + Future Scheduled)

  4. Select the timeframe of your interest

  5. Click Export in the top-right corner and select if you want to export chart or table data

📝Note: If you are on a Starter plan, you can export the Scheduled data only. Teams on the Pro and Enterprise plans can also export Logged data, including time tracking details.

People report export

For the People report, you can choose to export chart data, table data, or—if you are a Pro or Enterprise user—time tracking data.

  • Chart data export of the People report includes:

    • Date

    • Capacity hrs

    • Scheduled hrs

    • Scheduled %

    • Scheduled Billable hrs

    • Scheduled Billable %

    • Scheduled Non-billable hrs

    • Scheduled Non-billable %

    • Scheduled Tentative (all) hrs

    • Scheduled Tentative (all) %

    • Unscheduled hrs

    • Logged hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged % - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Billable hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Billable % - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Non-billable hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Non-billable % - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Scheduled Overtime hrs

    • Logged Overtime hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

  • Table data export of the People report includes:

📝Note: This option is only available if your team uses time-tracking features (Pro and Enterprise plans).

For the Projects report, you can choose to export the chart data or the table data.

  • Chart data export of the Projects report includes:

    • Date

    • Scheduled hrs

    • Scheduled Billable hrs

    • Scheduled Billable %

    • Scheduled Non-billable hrs

    • Scheduled Non-billable %

    • Scheduled Tentative (all) hrs

    • Scheduled Tentative (all) %

    • Logged hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Billable hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Non-billable hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged Non-billable % - on Pro and Enterprise plans

  • Table data export of the Projects report includes:

    • Project

    • Project code

    • Client

    • Tags

    • Phase

    • Budget fee

    • Budget hrs

    • Scheduled fee

    • Scheduled cost

    • Scheduled hrs

    • Logged fee - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged cost - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Logged hrs - on Pro and Enterprise plans

    • Budget used % (Total Scheduled)

    • Budget used % (Total Logged) - on Pro and Enterprise plans

📝Note: If the project budget is set per phase or per task, the budget column in the CSV export repeats the budget in each phase/task line. The budget column does not sum up on the CSV export.

API export

If you require more flexibility or wish to keep your Float data in sync with another service, you can export your data using the Float API. For more information and guidelines, please refer to our API documentation.
