Download your Float data

Exporting data from Float is a straightforward process, and there are several methods you can use depending on your needs. This comprehensive guide covers everything from exporting your schedule to utilizing the Float API for more complex tasks.


Schedule Export

  1. Navigate to the Schedule page.

  2. Click on the Share button located in the top right corner.

  3. Select Export and choose the file format .CSV for Excel.

You can either opt for one of the preset date ranges or specify a custom range. Furthermore, data can be exported by day or week.

Exporting People Data

  1. Go to the People page.

  2. Click on Import.

  3. Choose Upload a file.

  4. Make sure to tick the box that says Pre-populate with the existing team to update people.

  5. Click on Download People template.

Exporting Project Data

  1. Navigate to the Projects page.

  2. Click on Import.

  3. Choose Upload a file.

  4. Tick the Pre-populate with existing projects box.

  5. Click on Download Project template.

Exporting Reports

To export reports for offline work or external tracking:

  1. Go to the Report page.

  2. Click Export in the top-right corner.

You can export various types of data, such as:

  • Chart data when viewing the People tab

  • Table data when viewing the People tab

  • Time tracking data when viewing the People tab (if you're using time tracking)

API Data Export

If you require more flexibility or wish to keep your Float data in sync with another service, use Float API to export your data. For more information and guidelines, please refer to our API documentation.
