Projects: organize your work, people, budgets, and timelines in one place

Scope projects with the right people, budgets, and timelines, matching what you need to what you have.

Written by Monique Lonardi

Think of each Project in Float less as a to-do list, and more as a container of each project’s financial, resourcing, and timeline decisions.

This module walks through creating a project and connecting it to a budget type, a client, and the roles from your Data studio, which is what lets Float track costs and margin as work is scheduled and logged. It also covers project statuses and stages, which control what’s visible to your team and what shows up in your reports.

With your projects created, the next step is project planning: a timeline view of everything from proposal to completion, and where you’ll scope and estimate each project in the dedicated Project view.
