At Float, work that is yet to be confirmed can be categorized as tentative. You can set up tentative projects, tentative project phases, and tentative allocations to differentiate them from your confirmed work.

Tentative projects

To set a project as tentative, simply select Tentative on the project side panel under the Status field.

Setting a project as tentative.

If a project is set as tentative, by default, its phases, tasks, and allocations are set as tentative as well.

Tentative phases and milestones are displayed as color outlines on the Project plan view.

Similarly, tentative allocations are displayed as color outlines on the Schedule to clarify that they haven't been confirmed yet.

Tentative project phases

If a project is tentative, by default, all its phases are tentative as well.

If a project is confirmed, any individual phase can be set as tentative. Simply open the phase menu and select Tentative under Status.

📝Note: While you can set the tentative phases within a confirmed project, creating confirmed phases in a tentative project is not supported.

Tentative allocations

By default, all allocations linked to tentative projects or tentative project phases are tentative as well.

If a project or phase is confirmed, any individual allocation belonging to them can be marked as tentative from the allocation menu.
