Float’s range of access rights provides you control over who sees and who touches, when it comes to your team schedule.
When starting out, consider adding people without inviting them. It’s a great way to get familiar with the Float interface before others join in.
When you’re ready, start inviting your team by selecting an access type. There are three types of access, each with a varying degree of super-powers:
A Member can sign in to view their schedule, a department or your whole team. You can grant them additional access to edit their schedule, perfect for team members who manage their own tasks and time off.
Project Managers, like the name suggests, are for team members that schedule projects. They’re free to create new projects, add people, and assign tasks for their projects. However, they’re unable to edit other projects and their related tasks.
Admins have all the control, with full read and write access, free to create, update and delete any person or project.
If you created the account, you’re automatically assigned as the Account Owner. Like an Admin, you have full read and write access, with additional access to account, plan and billing information.
There’s only one Account Owner, and you can reassign this power to another team member from Account Settings.
For team members who need to access the account (but not appear in the schedule), we offer a Guests feature. You can have an unlimited number of guest users in Float—for free!
To add Guests, head over to the Guests page in Account settings, select the Invite button, and fill in their name and email.
